Another Year Older
But NOT deeper in debt......yippee!
Another year older......
A wee bit wiser......I think?
Another year older......
A few pounds heavier......*sigh* Check the wiser status
Another year older......
Richer in friends......you know who you are!
Another year older......
Closer to eternity......He's coming soon!
Another year older......
I'm feelin it......hah!
Another year OVER......
Some days best forgotten.......some were just rotten!
Another year over......
Some days were great blessings! They outnumbered the rotten ones!
A NEW year beginning......
Bring it on......consider it a do-over if you must ;o)
MAY YOU HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR!
Blessings, Mumsie

Have A Blessed *CHRISTmas*
It's *CHRISTmas* at the cottage. I wish each of you could come and sit by the warm fire and share a cup of cider or eggnog and we could chat and consider this wonderful and glorious *season* we celebrate. There is still much to do...but the usual frenzy is not present here at the cottage this year as we truly embrace a simpler attitude.
I pray you find a sense of peace and joy that
overwhelms your heart and soothes the weary soul.
I hope you take time to laugh and enjoy family and friends
Focus on the moments that make memories
Dwell on the Reason for the season...
The birth of a Savior
May you and yours....
Have the most Glorious and Blessed CHRISTmas!

Wintery Sunshine
~ Only 11 more days 'til CHRISTmas! ~ Today is a lovely day with bright sunshine after many days of gray and gloomy skies. I want to be outside with the *girls* but have things to accomplish and they are inside projects ~*sigh*~
The *girls* are enjoying the sunshine and the
grass found under the melting snow...
but not for long another wintery storm is coming!
Working on CHRISTmas gifts has been keeping me steadily busy....you can find me most days sittin in my comfy chair with some sort of fiber and some needles in my hands, perhaps even watching an old CHRISTmas movie knitting away the hours.
Or perhaps stirring up something in the kitchen not all of it is particularly edible such as today's batch of homemade laundry soap.
PINK ...isn't that pretty? Easy peasy recipe. Pink Zote soap, borax, washing soda, baking soda. A fun gift to share. At least I think so!
With daytime at the cottage winding down and the pleasant afternoon sun disappearing I knew it was time to stop and treat hubs and myself to a soothing cuppa tea some pumpkin bread, too.

A Wee Bit 'O CHRISTmas
Not much time to read or take tea |
I've been a wee bit busy this past week knitting, decorating and whimsical nonsense and haven't meant to neglect ya'all. Today I should finish all the *greening* embellishment and then do all the cleaning, with the help of the hubby for sure but here is a little peek at what's been happening at the cottage *workshop* Oh yeah!
I've been *embellishing* in layers okay...so it takes me a while to get in the groove, then I putter for days! and then it stays up way into January.
I've been 'causing sparks to fly off those needles.. and they're wooden!
More projects and gifting to finish in the next couple of weeks. Yikes!
So I really have been busy and I hope you don't feel too bad, 'cause that just won't do! Stay tuned for a CHRISTmas pictoral tour of the cottage soon.
'Til then....Blessings, Mumsie

*Winter* White Wednesday
I was planning to give the rest of the cottage it's CHRISTmas-y touches today I'm going for a vintage-y look this year with fresh greens and lots of creamy whites, gold, silver and glitter but I have a small but good delay. Hubs is recording his Christmas CD at the dining room table (it's a long story) so instead I'm working on some knitting projects I'll share pics soon for my totally home/hand-crafted gifting this year. I took the vow and won't look back! Plus I was able to get some pics of the wintery white outside rest assured, I KNOW I'm not a photographer but more of a person who documents with pictures . I can't decorate as well as the Creator when it comes to outside winter snowscapes.
It's certainly beginning to look a lot like CHRISTmas
here at the cottage outside at least!

Some Inspiration
Just before Thanksgiving well, probably more like the beginning of November when I'm snugglin in and preparing for the holiday season, I pull out two of my very favorite sources for inspiration they get the juices flowin, 'cause sometimes I just feel all dried up!
What helps to inspire you?

Decorating the Tree
While it is the Lord who decorates the branches of the trees
outside the window with snow, thank you Lord!
It is the *hubs* who decorates our 9 1/2 ft. tree
every year. Thank you dear hubs! He really is better at it than I am,
patiently most of the time ;o) affixing our *hundreds* yes, I said hundreds of ornaments and sparkly things. Oops...make that hundreds minus one. It's okay hon, it was an accident. Love ya anyway! Oh, and don't worry, he'll straighten the crooked tree topper. Right dear?

Snow Woes
I think this might be one of those winters where *the girls* look back and say amongst themselves, "why, we remember all that snow we had over Thanksgiving weekend, from then on we were cooped up the whole blasted winter!
I think they are already looking forward to spring. I'll break it to them gently.
Blessings to you! Mumsie xoxo
